Education
PhD, Civil Engineering, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, 2026 (expected)
MS, Civil Engineering, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, 2022
BS, Civil Engineering, minor in Computer Science, Purdue University, 2020
Hello! : D My name is Casey Rodgers, and I’m a Civil Engineering (CEE) PhD student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). My research applies computer graphics, computer vision, and machine learning to solve real-world problems in structural health monitoring, post-disaster building assessments (particularly post-earthquakes), and engineering education.
Prior to this, I received my BS in CEE with a minor in Computer Science (CS) from Purdue University in May 2020 (#inStateTuition) and my MS in CEE from UIUC in May 2022, both specializing in structures. During grad school, I took the last 3 CS courses needed to complete the sequence of core CS courses required for a BS in CS. Additionally, I’ve taken 10 graduate level CS courses with a focus on Interactive Computing and Artificial Intelligence.
Outside of school, I really enjoy drawing, animation, reading, playing video games, and game development.
I absolutely love learning! One of my favorite things is thinking of an idea, researching how to make it happen, designing it, and creating it. As a result, many of my projects are random cool things I just decided to do.
